Thanks Jarod, I thought that it looked funny but you know how it is when you are up until the middle of the night and desperately trying anything to get it to work.
However, I made that correction to my modprobe.conf file but I still don't get any response at all from my remote control. Heath PS. If you hold down control and press enter at the same time while you are working on an email in outlook express it sends it even if you aren't finished! Thus the blank email right before this one. You learn something new everyday. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jarod Wilson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Discussion about mythtv" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, March 24, 2005 3:48 PM Subject: Re: [mythtv-users] Remote Control Problems! I can watch and record tv, rip dvd's, etc. but I can not get my remote to work. Here are my specs Fedora Core 3 Kworld V-Stream Xpert TV PVR-878 AMD 2500+ MSI motherboard ASUS fx5200 128MB video card I have this in my modprobe.conf file alias char-major-81 bttv alias char-major-81-0 bttv options bttv card=78 pll=0 options tuner type=2 debug=0 options msp3400 once=1 simple=1 alias char-major-61 lirc_gpio debug=1 card=78 soft_gap=0 I have the kworld lircd.conf file in my etc directory and I have tried adding both of these lines (not at the same time) LIRCD_OPTS="-d /dev/lircd" ### This one should be correct LIRCD_OPTS="-d /dev/lirc/0" ### But I tried this one also and it doesn't work either but neither seem to make much of a difference. lircd starts without any problems and I had to add "ln -s /dev/lircd /dev/lirc" in order to get irw to work. When I run irw it doesn't seem to get any input from the remote. It just sits there without any response. Once i started running "/usr/bin/irxevent &" I was finally able to get irrecord to work but when it comes down to taking the input still nothing happens and I get the error irrecord: no data for 10 secs, aborting irrecord: gap not found, can't continue So it seems as if either my system is not getting any input from the TV tuner card or the card is not getting anything from the remote. It is a brand new card and I have tried switching out the batteries in the remote. (Should it recieve input from just any remote, because that doesn't seem to work either?) Yes the remote came with the card. I have been plugging away at this for almost a week now with no results so I would really appreciate any help. I have seen lots of people saying that they got the remote to work with this card but none of them say how. If any of you have gotten this remote to work I would love to see your config files or know how you did it. Thanks for any help! Heath
