I don't think this is compile time related, but runtime. Please use nvidia-graphics-switch to get your libraries in sync with your modules.Are you saying we should be able to use the latest drivers with mythtv?

So you can install 7167 you just have to use the nvidia-graphics-switch?

OK. So i did an
apt-get install nvidia-graphics7167
nvidia-graphics-switch 7167
try to playback using hardware acceleration.
