Saw an article on Slashdot about Autopackage. It supposedly is a binary packaging system that can handle multiple distros with the same package. Considering how many people use different distros, I'm wondering if this ought to be looked into, or if it is so much more work it isn't useful. Might be nice though, to have one "official" binary package for most users (I'm sure Gentoo users would rather retain Portage, but who knows?). Just a thought, as I know zero about building packages of any type.

Jeff.
