I'm having trouble with recorded audio through my PVR250, and I'm
hoping someone here can point me in the right direction to resolve the
issue.

When I first boot my mythTV box, I can use "mplayer -vo xv
/dev/video0" to play a video stream with no problems -- both audio and
video are fine. (The same holds true when I'm watching live TV in
mythTV.)

However, once I record a program, the audio gets louder and extremely
choppy. What's worse -- once I've recorded a program, the audio
problem persists even after quitting mythTV ! (Running "mplayer -vo
xv /dev/video0" has choppy audio as well). The only fix I've found so
far is to reboot the machine. (Unfortunately, this only works until I
try to record again, which renders my PVR250 with mythTV rather
useless...)

Has anyone encountered a similar problem? It seems like mythTV may be
making a change to the card settings, but I don't know how to figure
out what the change is, or what to do about it.

I'm relatively confident that the problem isn't in my audio setup --
sound (and recordings) continue to work just fine for my Air2PC card,
and music/Videos play without any problem.

Is your gain/level set too high after the recording starts? Check your alsamixer settings before recording (right after reboot) and then again after. Maybe myth is changing your level too high. I think my system would sound choppy and loud if I had that too high.
