the nfslockfile is a file put in there by nfs. leave it alone.

Yes, leave it alone, but no, the lockfile isn't put there by nfs. It's used by the backends to determine whether or not they're using a shared directory structure. You might be using samba, for example. When I implemented it I assumed that everyone would be using NFS, which is why it's called that. Everyone will have a nfslockfile in their directory, even if they only have one system.


from the error message it looks like you have a / duplicated before the buffer file.

That doesn't matter. Multiple slashes don't hurt. The problem is somewhere else.
