Ivor, I found this setting and now it works great! I can select a current tv show to change channels or a future show to record!
Also I was able to change around some of the keybindings to get rid of the 3 & 9 doing page up and page down. Now, I can actually dial in specific channel numbers in the guide. Also it appears "TVFrontend" keybindings in mythweb affect the EPG. This has been a good day.
