The epia has a hardware for mpeg acceleration.

Ah, I thought that was only the 10k series. Anyway, people have no trouble running mythweb on p3 ~500mhz systems. It's more a matter of RAM than speed (big channel listings mean you need more RAM).

Why would mythweb be any worse than playing back full-frame mpeg2?

Anyway, you could easily run it on another box if you happen to have one
available, too.
