I think they'd need a pretty good lawyer (or the Chewbacca defence) to
convince anyone that this complied with the GPL's definition of source
code:
The source code for a work means the preferred form of the work
for making modifications to it.
Unless they really do make their mods with pencil and paper of
course ;-)
