So, I've got a nice 52" JVC HD-ILA TV that has this wonderful HDMI connector on the back of it. I've been using just an svideo cable to it lately, so I figured why not upgrade to the digital era and get this thing plugged in. I bought a DVI->HDMI cable to plug the two together. In the machine, I have an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200. It works to the HDMI for the console (though, it's horribly cut off), and I can get it working with a 480p resolution. However, that offers me no specific advantage over what I had before. I'm looking to get up to 1080i or 720p, but there's a big problem: I'm getting this crazy horizontally-spliced image. It's as if horizontal lines are being jumbled up in a pattern on the screen.

Here's the modelines I've tried with no luck:

ModeLine "1920x1080_i" 74.52 1920 1952 2016 2208 1080 1084 1096 1126 -HSync -VSync Interlace
ModeLine "ATSC-720-71.93p" 89.011 1280 1296 1360 1650 720 722 728 750
ModeLine "ATSC-720-72p" 89.1 1280 1296 1360 1650 720 722 728 750
ModeLine "ATSC-720-119.88p" 148.351 1280 1296 1360 1650 720 722 728 750
ModeLine "ATSC-720-120p" 148.5 1280 1296 1360 1650 720 722 728 750
ModeLine "ATSC-1080-71.93p" 178.022 1920 1960 2016 2200 1080 1082 1088 1125
ModeLine "ATSC-1080-72p" 178.2 1920 1960 2016 2200 1080 1082 1088 1125
ModeLine "1080p" 74.250 1920 1964 2008 2200 1080 1082 1088 1125 +HSync +VSync Interlace

I've been putzing around with stuff, but nothing wants to work. I'm probably going to have to find a drive to shove in and install windows to try out PowerStrip. But before I go through that pain, does anyone know of what may be wrong or see any glaring errors on my part?
