Interesting - I have this problem with my new FX5200 and the latest drivers.

Cant seem to find the xvattr command either.

I have been trying to ask the same question, but no one seems to
understand the issue. I think that the video on screen isn't
overlaying completely on the X background. The xvattr change you
have listed only changes the X background color to black from Blue.
There HAS to be a way to move the image (video) over to the left a few
pixels and up a few pixels. I only have this problem on the S-Video
and NOT on my VGA monitor.

I've seen several other people mention the problem too. Just to reiterate, I didn't see this on my MX440 with nvidia drivers that were 1-2 revisions older. I'm not seeing it on my new fx5200 with the latest nvidia drivers as of this e-mail.
