One of the other problems with part time channels happens when the last programme that you recorded was on one of those channels. If you try and watch live TV after the channel has gone off air, it won't tune and returns you back to the menu because it's defaulting to the last channel you recorded on.

The only option is to schedule a recording from another on-air DVB channel temporarily to reset the starting channel.

I did try and hack the "startchan" in the database, but it doesn't work. Bizarrely, the startchan gets reset back to the non-working one! You need to stop the backend before you can do this so it sticks.
