I run Gentoo on the EPIA system I have. Compiled from source... I did
encounter DMA problems twice, in the following circumstances:

- Copying large files to a USB disk. I suspected this was more due to
the USB-IDE controller in the enclosure being of low quality. Swapped
disk to other enclosure and never had trouble again.
- Copying large files to the disk using samba. I do not do that
anymore, al my file transfers over the lan are with scp now. I copy
large files on a regular basis, without any problems now.
