I had similar issues... I did 2 things: 1. make sure the capture resolution is set correctly, by default it's set to 480x480 I believe. I changed that to 720x576 (not sure... PAL resolution anyway). You can find these settings in your frontend... LiveTV recording profiles of your capture card.
2. I turned down the bitrate of the recordings and livetv a little bit (I believe I now have them set at 4000 with a max of 5000). These can be found at the same recording profile settings. Play around with them a little... let us know how it turned out, maybe I have some other settings that can be of use. Kees.
