Franco,

Does your version of MythTV have OpenGL support compiled in? I seem to
recall reading that OpenGL support is a compile option (I think some
readers were trying to get OpenGL vsync support), so it may be missing
from your current installation. Perhaps a recompilation of
myth/mythgallery may solve this problem?

As glxgears runs, your system obviously has a working OpenGL layer, so
it could be that Myth doesn't have it compiled in which is then
causing MythGallery to fail.
