The only way I could get the Watch TV to work is by setting the default input to Tuner0 actually, it was weird. Since version 0.15 it's been set to Composite0 with no problems, so go figure. Anyway, I did a clean build of the latest CVS fifteen minutes ago, so I'll see how CSI: Miami records tonight (If at all!)

Thanks for the response Mark and keep in touch. This is a really fun hobby, but it's even better to be in touch with others doing the same thing.

Cheers,
Dustin

Dustin,
  I also am using a PVR-250 but on a Gentoo/P4 machine - not AMD_64 -
and I'm also getting blank recordings. I think the problem is in the
way I've done the connections page.

Are you able to get TV by setting the default input to the Tuner? I
haven't tried that. Well, I did tell mythtv-setup to make the default
input the tuner but when I start mythfrontend it still comes up using
Composite 0.

Anyway, I think the blank screen may not be AMD_64 but that we're
bothing doing something wrong with the connections page. Jsut my
guess.

Thanks and good luck,
Mark

Greg,

I too have an nVidia 5200 with a PVR-250 that works fine for the
most part, I'm just working out why scheduled recordings come out blank
for right now though... Is there anything I can help you with? I have
a Gigabyte K8NS-Ultra 939 mobo with and AMD64 3000+ CPU.

I just switched to the CVS version of MythTV and it seems to have
fixed some weird MYTH_PROTO_VERSION error that I was seeing (Unrelated
to the warning in the documentation). I also find that I have to set my
default input to Tuner0, is that common for everyone else who uses the
PVR-250? I also live in Canada and as such, I recieve NTSC which seems
to work fine with the PVR-250.

Does anyone know when this URL will be up? It has to do with
setting up MythTV with the PVR-250.

I posted the following on my homepage this morning:

I bought a dual Opteron 244 back in November of 2003 because I
wanted a really, really fast desktop machine. Around the same
time, I started playing with MythTV <http://www.mythtv.org/>, and
it wasn't long after that I got a pcHDTV <http://www.pchdtv.com>
HD-2000 card and began watching high-definition programming.
Unfortunately, despite the Opteron's superior I/O bus design and
incredibly speedy processing, it had more trouble decoding HDTV
than did a much cheaper non-HT uniproc Pentium 4.

It has taken quite some time for MythTV to get to the point where
it can reasonably be used with this configuration. Recently, a
version of ffmpeg that appears to be optimized for AMD64
<http://www.x86-64.org/> has been imported into the Myth CVS
repository: to get this, make sure to uncheck the "uselibmpeg"
option in Setup/TV Settings/Playback. However, this alone isn't
   sufficient.

<SNIP>

If you have success with this configuration, I'd love to hear
about it. If you have problems and are able to determine what I've
left out, let me know so I can add the appropriate config elements.

   Cheers,
   Kyle

I have this same MB/CPU combo, but I am using a 5200 graphics card and
a PVR-250. I don't have it working yet (the 250 is eluding me). Do
you have any words of wisdom or has anything changed in the past
couple weeks since you originally posted this? I was going to try
.18, have you tried it yet?

Thanks,
Greg
