Sounds like the easiest way. Even with that, you're probably not guaranteed to have standards-compliant conversion, and you'll have to cook up the modeline you want.I don't recall any of the DIY transcoders doing that, but they seem to work all the same.

Do you think there is any chance it would work out of the box? I'm thinking no, but it's almost worth trying. Could I hurt anything by using it?
