I've had the same issues with my 6200TC card.  Can't get xv to work
reliably.  X's cpu usage is extremely high.  When I try xvmc the 720p
clips work but the 1080i ones kill the frontend.


Hmmm, have you checked the Vidia readme. I Have a Amd 3500+ box with a 6600GT (yep I have two different myth systems) that seems to work great with XV. 6629 binary drivers, and OpenGL

GlxGears does about 6200 fps on this system.
