This was truly my moment of glory ! Thanks to all the fine MythTV

of course, Isaac, for giving me this brief, (and no doubt still rare) moment of marital triumph !
I am in the same situation. What I did was set Myth to record her favourite shows. Then I waited for a day where she would miss one. I simply said "no problem" and burned a DVD-RW with the shows for her to watch. SHE now came back and asked if we could hook up the doo-hickey to the TV in the living room.
So I am building a frontend as we speak.
