I'm going to try to use the RPMs, following these instructions http://dijkstra.csh.rit.edu/~mdz/debian/dists/unstable/mythtv/source/
I will report on my success or failure. In theory, it will let me create debian packages from RPMs, but I'm not sure if everything will get installed in happy places.
