D/PVR and most people use it that way, ie record your shows, flagg
comms, and then watch a commercial free show. Once you relearn how to watch
TV (on your schedule, not the networks) then you wont have the
issue you describing. When you want to watch a HD show, just go to your
Recorded Shows and queue it up. Its not wanted/needed that bad, as
most people dont watch Live TV anymore.

Ahh, but see there's the rub. Re-learning how to do
something that I've been doing for 40 some years is
difficult and sometimes I just like the mindnumbing
act of watching TV, flipping around, changing channels
at will.
Understandable. Still, no one has coded up anything to achieve what you want, so as of right now, its not possible to do what you want. If people want this bad enough, then someone will code it up. Till then, just watch the commits list.
