If I want to hide a channel completely I just set its source to unassigned (are there any pitfalls with doing this?).
But doesn't that require direct database manipulation? If so that doesn't seem very user friendly. Perhaps there should be a "visible" (as in epg) flag and a seperate "browseable" flag.
You can change the source in mythtv-setup, but a separate flag would be better.
