it is a clone of pico. It is also good to know how to compile your own kernel, but not neccesary for myth, and something a newbie should not attempt right away. For the record, I have never bothered to learn VI, would need my hand held if I got in it, and have accidently done damage by trying to use it. I have been using various unix and linux distros off and on for over 10 years now.
