Compaq has always sucked and they have always bee a little proprietary.  I gave up on them in 1987.  Only when I was forced to support Compaq for a client did I even touch one after that.  If only Carly had talked to me... :-)

Important question:  Is it necessary to configure the BIOS in some cases for Myth?

I think one of the Compaq high-end machines uses a Silverstone case.

It shouldn't be surprising that readymade PCs generally have the cheapest available motherboard, case, PSU etc.

I actually briefly capitulated and bought a Compaq Presario Desktop. It was decent value, but the machine is not real fast. The BIOS is not configurable, the memory runs with way too many waits (slow), the motherboard graphics (VIA Unichrome) are very slow (esp. compared with the Intel Extreme Mobo graphics) and suck at running the X screensaver GL stuff.

I think I'm back to putting my own stuff together again.

The Silverstone LC-03 I have fits a standard ATX motherboard. I forget
what size PSU I put in, but I know it was more than 240.
