I don't know if it's any use in eliminating possbile causes of the problem, but I'm also using a FX5600 (Winfast A310 if it makes any diff), to do my TV output (even tho I have a PVR-350, I prefer using the Nvidia card to get accelerated OpenGL for goom etc). The only time I've noticed any blur/interlacing type effects is with a fast action .vob file (I have Victory by Bond for example, and in the scenes with fast dance moves (spins etc) the image gets fractured - I haven't managed to get XvMC working yet ).
I'm currently running at 1024x768 on a 28" widescreen normal CRT TV, aside from the above mentioned, I find the quality to be pretty damn good (given a good recording source of course)
