No, getting real HDTV requires digital cable (or an antenna for OTA). I don't have digital cable or an antenna, so all I am getting is plain old analog 4:3 cable. I do plan to upgrade to digital service with HDTV eventually, when HD-capable TV sets come down out of the stratosphere to prices I can actually afford. But I did want to get myself an HD-capable card before they become effectively illegal to purchase in the US after July 1 (the broadcast flag crap). --Greg
