Thanks, I discovered the XvMC-VLD was not compiled in. Anyway I've reconfigured mythtv and recompiled it. My frontend is now giving me the XvMC-VLD option. I've now got both the XvMC option and the XvMC-VLD options selected, but unfortunaly it still doesn't seem to work. It now apears to give to me a blank screen and then the system is locked up.
