Quoting David Kyle <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

Has anybody had success with 1.7 Ghz? The price difference between
1.7 and 2.0 is pretty big (about $200 from what I've found)... So it
would be nice to know if the extra .3 Ghz is necessary. I guess if
1.3 can do 720p, I'd imagine 1.7 could do 1024i. But does anyone know
for sure?

I don't know. I'd guess it *might* work on the 1.8, I don't know about the 1.7.

The 1.3 doing 720p is marginal. The processor is very stressed there. I'm sure that there could be occasional glitches. I don't use it very often, since it requires me to plug in the cat-5, since the g wireless can't keep up. I think I could optimize the wireless, but it's currently not worth the effort. I've been waiting for the prices on the 1.8 or 2.0 to come down before I upgrade my laptop, for patio HD viewing ;)

Myth may be able to be optimized more. One issue is that it's more like a pentium 3, than a pentium 4, tho it does support features of the 4, like sse2. In newer gcc's (>=3.4) there is a pentiumM march.
