It wasn't able to record, although I could have sworn it was. Oh well. dmesg was complaining about the card being unknown. I knew it was known in the previous installation. Started digging and must have missed the line tveeprom tveeprom-ivtv in modprobe.conf. Now all works. Thanks, Paul
