Are you automatically transcoding your recordings (if recording with an MPEG2 capture card) or recording directly into MPEG4 (if using a framebuffer card)? This would give you video in MPEG4 format which is causing the problem. If you have MPEG2 capture, disable the transcoding, and try the procedure on the newly captured file. If you want to convert the existing file onto DVD, you'll need to convert the video into MPEG2 format.
