It was discussed earlier to reduce the delay in changing channels for
someone. I'm betting that is what the link to the gossamer threads is
very high up. It's not a terrible idea, just one I don't think anyone is
going to take the time implement.
Add an EXEC command (or EXEC_TV/TV_EXEC I don't remember which) to your
menu that spawns tvtime or xawtv or any such program to watch TV. The
special EXEC will mark the tuner as in use and you get TV without an PVR
functionality.
