The G4 450 isn't really enough to run MythTV and be happy. I know this firsthand, because I have one. I'm only using mine as a frontend, but it doesn't really have the oomph to satisfactorily play back the recordings from my backend (which are MPEG-4). I'd consider a CPU upgrade if I were trying to use MythTV on the machine on a regular basis.
