A simple (and probably not too useful) way may be to record certain channels on certain tuners - this way you are guaranteed that the recording load is split between the two machines. You could create separate channel sources for each recorder containing only the channels you want it to record on each particular recorder. You could also periodically update the priority of the recorders via the database so that for a period of time one machine has priority, then after a while the other has priority with the aim of spreading out the disk usage between the two machines. A third idea would be to edit the channel entries (probably via mythsetup, easily through the database directly) so that duplicated channels on each machines have their recpriorities spread evenly between the two. This would mean that you wouldn't have to touch the video sources/channel lineups and should give the same end result. Unless you have duplicated channels visible (i.e. BBC1_R1 for BBC1 on rec #1) I don't think you could specify recorders on a per-recording basis.
