I don't think its Use Window Mode. you don't want MythTV running in an actual window. I think you just adjust the dimensions of myth from being 0, which means full screen, to being something non zero. Start with the left/right adjustments first though.
Then turn on the use GUI Dimensions for Playback (something like that) option. Sorry, I'm not in front of my Mythbox right now.
