[mythtv-users] Time/Date on Home Screen

I searched but (surprisingly) I couldn't find anything about this one.  Is there a reason that MythTV doesn't show the time/date on the home screen?  It seems only natural that somewhere it would appear, but I haven't seen it, and I've checked different themes.  Is this in fact a theme-dependent issue, or just a MythTV issue?  Thanks,
