That's entirely within the control of the OSD theme. In order to
"get padding" you'd need to either adjut the theme and it's graphics
or create a new one.
I'm pretty sure I've been able to move the OSD without editing the theme I
was using... IIRC it's one of the offset/size setup screens. Haven't
gotten around to fixing it again since I moved everything Myth to a new
server though.
