Sorry, last post was broken!

I just found it!! User error! I had misunderstood a config entry
within mythfrontend, asking me for the "lirc script". I had entered
the path to my ~/.lircrc file there - obviously a bad idea. This
resulted in these obscure lirc problems. I deleted the entry, and
the problem was gone!

Sorry for stressing you,

many thanks for all your good ideas!
So, how about fessing up? Which config entry? If you post it to the list it might help the next guy (or at least one of the people trying to answer the next guy's questions on the list).

Remember all the time you spent searching the archives? Think how happy you would have been if you had found the answer in your searches. Think how disappointed you would have been if you found someone with the exact same problem who finally said, "I fixed it. Nevermind," and didn't fully explain how. :)

Besides, if the config entry name is confusing or the "help text" isn't helpful, perhaps it can be fixed.

Thanks,
Mike

BTW, I guess it was "Something ... wrong with your config ... buried deep down within..." ;)
