You might also consider the slightly older i855GMEm-LFS. It supports the same (high-speed low-power) Pentium-M processors, but is a little better supported on the whole - bar the SATA controller, which needs a 2.6.11 kernel. It uses conventional DDR2700 rather than DDR2, and has an AGP4x slot rather than PCIe. Also, the onboard graphics lacks any form of TV Out.

That said, sound and LAN were trivial to get working.
