Unless the ivtv driver has changed, I'm sure there is a limit of 8 or
9 devices imposed on the system, to stop it imploding under the weight
to DMA transfers (that may now not be a factor, but I recalled reading
something last year about it and thinking SWEET)

#define IVTV_MAX_CARDS 8
Used to be 9 (there was at least one person who was at least semi-active
in development and needed support for 9 for a special-purpose system),
but was recently (within the last year or 18 months) reduced to 8 to
make coding easier.
