I did notice that the was this line in the output:

ivtv: Encoder revision: 0x02040024
ivtv: Encoder Firmware can be buggy, use version 0x02040011!!!!

How do I change that??

OK,
I need some help. I have two 250's and a 500mce in the same machine
and I am only getting static. Below is some info that may be of some
help. I have searched the mailiing list and have gotten a few ideas
for the modprobe.conf file from there but I am just lost.

I know there is some little thing that I am missing. Please help as it
is much appreciated.

you can probably get different firmware from somewhere other than the cd
that is the recommended version, however, this should not cause the
problem. my logs have that line and my myth box has run fine for months.

make sure your tuner types are right for your tuners and use the
ptune.pl or ptune-ui.pl scripts with mplayer to try tuning channels.

In reading the mailing lists, Jarod stated that the tuner should be set to
57 which they are. The 250's are set to 2. Should they be something else?

thats probably right, but if i'm not mistaken, a few revisions of the 250s were made, some with different tuners than the phillips. some people have had to change the tuner type in modprobe.conf for their tuners to work correctly. you can start looking at the tuner card itself. the manufacturer and model should be either on the sticker or below it stamped in the metal. the numbers for the tuner types are defined in tuner.h.
