KnoppMyth ROCKS!!! ;) i honestly haven't used FC so i can't give you a comparison. i think the main reason FC is one of the big distros used for Myth is because Jarod Wilson put together an excellent FAQ/HowTo for Myth on FC. and he's maintained and upgraded it! i did read through Jarods docs, but went with KnoppMyth because it looked easier to set up. everything is just built in, and in my case, just worked (YMMV). it really depends on your linux background & distro preferences. you also need to take your hardware into account. i built a new system and picked parts based on discussions in the KnoppMyth Forum so that i was sure my hardware was supported. it also depends on how much time you want to spend configuring everything. i suppose if you know what you're doing then the distro doesn't matter much. but KnoppMyth is basically configured out of the box (YMMV). MySQL, Myth and MythWeb are good to go. i know there are a couple of Myth packages (MythSuite???) that bundle all that functionality into one RPM or something similar though. Gentoo has quite a growing following as well. it may be on par with the KnoppMyth crowd by now. it still looks like FC has the lead if you're going to go by shear numbers though. :) good luck! _______________________________________________ mythtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
