Ok so I edited my mysql.txt and changed my DBhostname and Localhostname to = localhost.  Yet I had the same issue after the holiday weekend it came up with the settings back to default.  Am I missing something?

I pretty sure it's possible to use a non-hostname based identity for
this very reason. The table 'settings' is the one where the many
settings are kept.
