Odd. On my system a copy and a symlink have the same behaviour. I obviously saw the same archive entry and I didn't believe it (!) so I tried both a symlink and copy and made sure to restart Myth etc etc.
Maybe permissions? What distro? I'm on Debian testing. David PS, by fwd/rew, do you mean the 5/30 second skip? or do you mean double speed/reverse speed playback?
