When I left it last, I was receiving and sending (b/w, soundless) images. What could have happened?

I booted up my fledgling Myth system today and the output on the TV was
all, em, bizz-buzz. I can sorta make out the boot process behind the
flickering. But since nothing's coming out on the monitor, I'm not even
sure how to proceed, other than reinstalling.
