Yes, I've got a very similar setup (3.0GHz P4, Nv5200), and I've never been happy with the performance of myth for HD content, while xine works flawlessly. I'm running a recent SVN, but it would be nice to compare notes.. A few questions: Is it more stable for you for recordings than live tv? I've found that to be true. Do you display at 1080i, or at 720p, or at some other resolution? What does glxgears say about your 5200 card's performance? Do things get smoother if you disable de-interlacing? Have you tried enabling the extra audio buffering? Do things get better or worse if you use the OpenGL vsync timing method? Do you use alsa, or just /dev/dsp for sound? Drew
