I can't tell if it's related or of any help but a user on my forum had a similiar issue with the pvr500:
http://forum.byopvr.com/dvr/index.php/topic,3212.0.html "... went into BIOS and turned off "Allocate IRQ for PCI VGA" (or something like this). Afterwards, so far no lockups." There's always the PCI slot shuffle... does the ivtv driver still require extracting the firmware from the windows driver?
