I'm trying to make my MythTV box (both frontend and backend) suspend to RAM when it's idle. Everything I read says I just need to set the wake-up alarm by echoing a time and date to /proc/acpi/alarm and then suspend the machine by doing:
    echo -n mem > /sys/power/state

However, whenever I suspend the box it does a hard-powerdown instead and powering it up again just leads to a normal boot instead of a resume. Does anyone have any ideas what might be going wrong?
