You will probably want a version of ivtv to be atleast 3.0. I know the latest drivers at atrpms is 3. something. Also you will want to do "yum install ivtv_xdriver" that will replace the ivtv_dev and install the accelerated x_driver with it. It should be things alot faster without any other tweaking.
