I don't want to diverge from this topic, but with regard to being able to decrypt channels that you are legally paying for, I was under the impression that this device ( th dreambox http:// www.dreamboxusa.com/ ) had the ability to decode (with software I think) encrypted pay channels. It seems it may also be popular with people pursuing a not-so-legal approach to home entertainment, but they evidently have overcome many hurdles with recording encrypted HD/ SD data.

I have no experience with it myself, but was curious if anyone on this list knew more of the technical details and if they, or something similar could get rolled into myth?
