Yep. That's usually the case for *nix systems and Mozilla
searchplugins/plugins/extensions/chrome/etc--normal users don't have
permission to install to the system directories.
Depends on how well setup it is. On mine, Mandriva 2005LE, it
installed fine as a non-root user. The rpms must have the permissions
set correctly.
Sure, if you consider permissions that allow anyone to change the
application directory structure--and parts of Mozilla itself--correct. ;)
