There were ISA winmodems back in the day. There are external modems that plug into a USB port (instead of RS-232) that are winmodems. There are PC Card/CardBus winmodems. Conversely, there are controller-based PCI modems that'll work just fine with Linux. Your generalization falls a bit short. _/_ / v \ Scott Alfter (IIGS( http://alfter.us/ Top-posting! \_^_/ rm -rf /bin/laden >What's the most annoying thing on Usenet? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFDWV0mVgTKos01OwkRAoPaAJ4rFugXkLuVpmgEGRz7B3wBUOAgGQCgozjr y1pGb4WvBRm2oJJY9cVQFFI= =YcGz -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ mythtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
